Here is a good article about being pregnant with twins. A good read for granny’s and grampy’s.

Okay so everything Jason said was true. The doctor was a periantologist or baby specialist. The good thing about that is that we have a clean bill of health for everyone from a specialist. The other news is that we will still have another ultrasound on the 20th and a doctor’s appointment on the 21st. I thought he would cancel but what can I say, he loves me and the babies:) HA!
The other note is that I am pretty sure I felt that rambuctious Baby B today. It was a very odd sensation but not painful at all. What a relief to know all the pains I have been feeling were not the babies;) HA! It felt like a bubble bursting under my skin at random intervals. It has been going on all afternoon. I am pretty certain that it is good ol Baby B and not indigestion.
The babies are about 6 oz and about 6-8 inches. Baby B has found a comfortable resting spot right below my ribcage and Baby A is still first in line for exit (what an overachiever). They called baby B the breech baby and little stinker at the ultrasound. They really get a kick out of the activity between the two. B is very active and is always kicking the membrane and then A is happy go lucky until she gets a little kick in the head and she gives her sister a little punch in the leg. Very cute and very funny.
So looks like B is up and around and it is mid day, maybe that means she will sleep through the night. One can dream………
So it turned out the the only thing high-resolution about the ultrasound in Billings was the Doctor who looked at it. It looked like the same darn machine we have in Bozeman, but apparently the Doctor that went over everything with us has gone to three extra years of schooling to read these things. (And really, he said the ultrasound was GE’s top model, and since I’m not really up on the ultrasound models, it might be a better one than we have in Bozeman).
So all is good with the twins… they’re both up to 6 ounces now, and are right in line with the measurements for twins that are 16-17 weeks along. It was really nice to see them again… Baby A, the one that’s all lined up and ready to go, doesn’t really do much during the ultrasound… we might see her move her hands and legs just a bit, but nothing major. Baby B, on the other hand, is a rowdy little one, constantly moving around and kicking the membrane that separates her and her sister.
Yes, that’s right… the tech was pretty darn sure that both of our little ones are girls, so we’re gonna go with that. That’s pretty cool news… I feel like playing the lottery now because we had a slim chance of 25% to get two girls, and we won that lottery, so maybe the luck will continue.
We’re pretty jazzed about two girls… it seems like it’ll be easier on us, since, at least when they’re young, we can do more sharing than if one was a boy and one was a girl. Plus, we’ve heard from a few twin sisters that we’ve met that their best friend is and always was their sister, so that’s pretty cool.
So good news all around… the girls are cruising along in their wombs, Mystique’s doing fine, and dad’s already reading about how to screen dates for daughters!

Jason and I are off to the “big city” on Friday for a high resolution ultrasound. I don’t really know what that means but from what people have told me it is a pretty cool thing. Supposedly it is 3D and you can see features of the babies. So we might get to find out what the sexes of the babies are, which is exciting. Then we can reveal names!
The pictures I was able to see online are pretty freaky because they are so clear. Our appointment is at 7:30AM so we are driving up on Thursday night. I have to have a full bladder for the test so I will be up and drinking early. Hopefully we will have some great pictures to post over the weekend. One friend told us to bring a video tape because some of the machines actually video the ultrasound. Our first home movie might be in the works.
Anyway, that is all the news for now. Everyone is healthy and happy.
