Lela\’s first tooth
Lela has her first tooth! She is cutting her first bottom tooth on the right hand side. I suspected it because she has been drooling a lot lately and neither of the girls are droolers. A little point is sticking through and she is a little uncomfortable but a lot more mellow than I imagined.

Things babies do…..
Well we are always describing things that Piper does and never Lela. That is not because Lela never does anything but more because the things she does are harder to describe:)
Right now Piper is putting her hand to her ear any time someone says, “hello”. She thinks that is what we do when we are on the phone. Lela has started to do it as well and it is so cute. Lela loves to play peek a boo but she plays so fast you can hardly keep up, it is funny! Lela also likes to sit on her butt and then spin around in a circle while sitting using only her legs. She loves it even more when something is on the floor that she can kick around in a circle to make noise.
They both pull themselves to a stand and Piper uses everything to walk around the room. Lela still loves to jump in her johnny jump up and stands as much as Piper. She does a great impression of a drunken sailor when she is walking.
As far as the doctors appt goes it went really well. Lela has finally caught up with Piper and the girls weigh in at 19.11oz and 19.12 oz respectively. This last month Piper only gained 6 oz but shot up 3 inches. Lela grew 2 inches and put on a whole pound. Amazing. Of course we can’t believe they are one and all that parent nonsense, I am looking forward to walking and all the things to come.

Happy Birthday!
It’s hard to believe, but the girls are now one year old. It’s been an amazing ride and we’re incredibly blessed to have these beautiful girls in our lives.
Here’s my original post from a year ago announcing their birth. I just read it and smiled a bit… I guess we were a little off on how long the girls might be in Billings
Mystique has made some cakes for the girls and we’ll be sure to take pictures and movies tonight as they dive in. We also have a doctor’s appointment today with a new doc in Scottsdale. The girls will get some shots but I’m sure they’ll recover just fine for tonight.

Zoo…teeth…and steps
All is well here in Phoenix. The girls are settling in nicely and when they are not teething or otherwise disturbed:), sleeping through the night, eating well and playing a ton. They can really get around now and both are good at standing while holding on to something. Piper has started to push along this little car toy while standing and Lela uses the same toy to ride around the room going only backwards.
Piper is really thinking about taking steps but she is sidetracked by the 4, yes FOUR, teeth that are coming in at the same time. All four top teeth are busting through and causing her a scooch of pain. She is a real trooper and hardly stops to pay it any attention. Lela is happy to keep gumming along. I have decided that she wants our full attention when she gets her teeth so she is waiting patiently and Piper is trying to speed it along as best she can.
Jason and I are hanging in trying to find us a home and all that stuff. Happy Holidays:)

We have arrived….
Well we made it to Arizona but I can’t say the trip was too enjoyable. The girls did awesome and so did Jason driving. I sat in between the girls in the back seat the entire way and could have been a scooch more comfortable had I been strapped to the top of the car. HA! But it made the trip easier for all of us and that is what counts. The girls were just happy as clams, we drove while they were sleeping and then got out for mini adventures for a couple hours and then back in the trooper. They saw Santa in Orem Utah and Flagstaff Arizona, man does that guy get around. They drove by Best Friends Animal Santuary and stayed in Kanab Utah where Piper upchucked all over the local Pizza Hut. Now if that doesn’t sound like fun, throw in one big Golden Retriever with flatulence and you have got an all day, all night, anytime Haslup Hoohah of a party.
We arrived in Scottsdale and peeled ourselves out of our overstuffed (with things we thought we couldn’t do without, boy were we wrong) Isuzu trooper and proceeded to wash the dust from our weary bones and head into the next day. So far we have been busy getting our schedules back on track and trying to prepare for the upcoming birthday/holiday season. I think we have most things under control but I am sure we will have forgotten something by the time things are over. C’est la vie!
