I’m back!

Just a quick note for anyone that’s interested… off to the right you’ll see a couple links to a small movie of Lela walking! Yep… Lela’s taken her first real steps and we’ve got it on tape.

Ok, actually, we had her practicing before I grabbed the video camera. but this was her first stab at walking towards anyone/anything other than Mom. Pretty cool… and for the record, Piper’s real close to walking herself, she’s just taking her time to make sure everything’s ok.

Well nothing really new going on just more of the good stuff. The girls are signing more and use eat and dog, two things they love:) We have started getting out to a new park nearby and they can just crawl and crawl. They are still napping twice a day and growing like weeds. We measured them today and Lela measured in at 32 inches and Piper at 29 1/2, so the pictures don’t lie, Lela is a bit taller!

Piper still loves to sit and read books and Lela still loves to jump. They are looking forward to their new house where they will have a playroom for all their toys. We should be moving on March 20th so we are all excited about that.

Today has been a very exciting day for us. Lela is starting to pick up signs and when a dog came on the TV she said doggie and then when I showed her a picture of a dog she did the sign for dog and pointed again at the TV. It was very exciting.

Also today when we went to change diapers, I told Piper diaper and did the sign and she said diaper at least 4 times. It was very exciting. Piper also took two steps today to get where she wanted to go.

It was a busy day filled with our signing class, crawling on the grass at the library and picking out new flooring for our new house. After all that we went running, well I ran and they napped.

Whew, even I am tired after all that excitement:)

We are all back to good health. Mommy caught the virus after the girls but it was much worse for them than for me. Our sleep schedules are a little off but other than that we are all fine.

The girls keep busy playing and exploring on their hands and knees. All the toys are Pipers and if she is lucky Lela gets to play with them. Piper is enjoying exploring Lela’s eyes, ears and mouth much to Lela’s dismay. Lela’s top tooth is starting to come through with a little point sticking out. She is much more sure footed and likes to pull up and stand and will even let go for a few seconds and almost takes steps. Lela is also very fast at crawling when she gets her mind set.

We still go for long walks everyday and spend time outside in our johnny jumpy (still Lela’s favorite). Piper likes to look for planes and Lela points at everything which gets Piper pointing. Other than that they are are just grooving right along like happy, healthy toddlers:)
