Serious Mojo

Okay so I must have been sending out some serious needy mojo because this afternoon I got a call from my mom in Texas, my MOM (mother of multiples) buddy inviting me to a sale, my sil M from Sacramento, my bfriend S from Texas, and I got an email from my dear friend E and my dear friend R from Bozeman. Whew, when it rains it pours I tell ya. The fridge is still busted and will be for some time due to having to get a different repair man, the one I had told me to call someone else after I paid his fee, grrrrrr.

Anyway, I wanted to jot down some things about the girls that I always forget to mention.

They think spotted cows and horses are “dirty” and they say so whenever they see them. DUR-Tee DUR-Tee DUR-Tee

Piper can sing and goes “Na Na Na Naaaaa” her l’s are n’s, so she says NyaNya for Lela, so cute.

Lela likes to dance and she does the sign for dance and then moves her shoulders up and down while shaking her hips.

And darn it all if I did not forget what else I was going to say………it’s my lot in life.

Funk lifted

Okay so I cleaned the house and now the funk has lifted.  I just need to get re-energized and get my jogger fixed, the refrigerator I can handle:)

Most days…

Okay so most days I feel like a good mom, even a great mom but today I feel like a crappy mom.  No big reason, I just hit a bump in the road where I don’t feel like I am being very mom like.  I mean I struggle to do what I feel is right and on days like today I let those things slide because I just can’t work up the energy.  So on days like today the girls don’t eat as well, they watch a little more Signing Times than usual and I try to just watch them instead of interact with them all day.  I have my moments, my spurts of energy but most of the day I just walk along behind them cleaning up the spilled cereal, the crunched up crackers, the misc apple bits and hope that they can’t sense my less than mom like mood.

The refrigerator repair man is coming today and it is officially broken, my tire is flat on my jogger (and that really gets me going), my house is a mess, my bedroom is a total mess and nothing else is really wrong other than my crappy ‘tude.  So I think I will clean the house, tidy my bedroom and wait patiently for my little angles to wake up to a happier more mom like mom.

Oh the wicked ways of those cutie patooties!

The last two days have been great, the girls are catching up on some sleep and have been so funny.  They are really starting to play with each other now, chasing each other around, catching each other, rolling on the floor laughing with each other, it is so awesome.  It has taken a long long time but it is finally happening.  They are so cute, Lela will run along signing love and chasing Piper to give her a hug, then Piper will grab the back of Lela’s shirt and Lela will pull her along behind her.  Too funny!

I got up late this morning (7AM) and so I had to take the girls on my 5 mile run in the jogger.  It was nice, they liked all the action of the cars going by and the morning hussle bussle.  On the way back I decided to run to the park so they could play.  I should have asked Lela if she had to potty since I had it with me but I did not and she excitedly climbed to the top and peed herself.  It was okay since I had extra panties but I did not have extra pants.  So……we went home and decided to go to Costco and meet Daddy for lunch

It was going well until we were driving home and Lela fell asleep in the car, so I started saying her name loudly to wake her up so she did not ruin her nap.  But she ignored me no matter how loudly I said her name, little bugger.  But Piper wanted me to say her name loudly so she would pretend to be asleep and I would say her name and she would “wake up” laughing her head off,  so we did that all the way home and I tried to drive while laughing my head off at her laughing her head off:)

Then we got  home and our fridge has been acting up so I wanted to get the groceries in and call a repair man before I forgot (which I always do….forget).  So the girls helped me unload and then we got inside and I got the phone book.  After a few minutes Lela came over and climbed up on my lap and then…..she peed.  HA!  She was trying to tell me she had to potty but I thought she wanted up on my lap so I put her there and she went potty!  It was so funny, maybe not to her.  I should have taken her right to the potty when we got home but……I FORGOT!  LOL!

They are sleeping now and all is quiet, the repair man is coming tomorrow, the groceries are getting hot on the counter and all is right with the world.

No that is not the number of diapers, the number of times I chase them each day, nor the number of toys they have….that was the temperature yesterday! So much for fall! Actually it does not seem that hot, even my folks were really surprised at how nice it is outside if you are not directly in the sun. The mornings and evenings are cool, in the 60s, so that is really nice.

So much has been happening with the girls but we have been very busy with Nana and Papa Slocum so I haven’t posted in a while and can’t remember what I was going to say. The girls have been using more and more words, sleeping a little less — about 13-14 hours in a 24 hour period. When you say it like that you think, how could I be tired if they sleep that much? Well I guess since you are going 90MPH the time they are awake that might have something to do with it.

The girls have started to climb up into my office chair and watch my screen saver which is pictures of them since they were babies. When you can’t find one of them and it is super quiet you can just check my chair in my office and they will both be sitting there watching themselves. I have started turning on a slideshow for them with music (Madonna, their fav) and they will just sit there and watch bouncing to the beat (which is why I am posting from Jason’s computer right now).

They are going through phases with eating, one day really hungry, one day just kind of hungry. I have started backing off on the soy milk and adding more variety with oat and almond milk. We bought a bunny costume for Halloween and when the girls put it on it drives the other crazy. It is almost like they no longer know it is their sister and they think it is a giant bunny to chase and hug. It is so cute, the one in the costume will run and the other will chase her to give her a hug. I have some pics to post but for some reason I am having trouble with the server not recognizing the file type. I will get it sorted and post soon.
