Full week

Well we have had a full week, busy, fun and exhausting all at the same time.  Piper went a whole day potty training with no accidents and we even took a trip to town.  If I can get her to not wear a diaper then she is golden, but some days she still wants to wear it for a while and we just go with it, I don’t want to push that one, she will rebel fo’shizzle.  Lela is singing up a storm, she knows all the works to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and a host of other songs.  She will also read aloud to herself, no one understands her except maybe Piper.  She will also read aloud to Piper who loves it.

The girls have started talking like no tomorrow.  It is true that kids are sponges because they say words and phrases that I can’t even remember saying.  Lucky for us Jason and I have always been extra careful about what we say so nothing out of the ordinary has come out…..yet.  Piper is very good at telling Otto what to do and even Lela, Lela is very good at helping Piper solve any challenge she has come up against that is upsetting her (she is the peacekeeper).

They have also started to really play with each other.  They will have a little tea party, they used to just sit near each other but now they will actually serve each other and chatter away.  They have also started holding hands a lot when they go places.  They still don’t interact with other kids much, if at all, but I think that is because they always have each other.  We do have a play group but the poor little girl in it just gets to sit near them if she is lucky.  They are just starting to show little signs of independence, Piper will walk 5 steps away from us in a restaurant when she used to just stand right there, they both will go in the playroom together and play alone for about 10 min, they will walk ahead of us about 5 steps and tiny things like that.  I know it is a good thing and generally I am relieved but I am also waiting for what is next.
