How do you like your PB&J?
So just in case you are even in a situation to make my girls PB&Js here is the protocol. Lela likes peanut butter and jelly on whole wheat and she likes her sandwich cut into a circle. Piper likes her sandwich with peanut butter only and cut into a triangle. Now this may change but it has been holding steady for quite some time.

Garden
We planted our garden. The girls did a super job and helped me poke the holes and plant the seeds. We planted kale, leeks, beets and swiss chard. All things the girls eat and Jason says he does not. Little does he know that he does eat them all because I sneak them into his food. LOL! That is why he is so big and strong, its the greens not the cheeseburgers.
So stayed tuned to see if our garden will really grow. If it doesn’t it won’t be because we did not give it the ol’ college try:)

Gymnastics and stuff
Well we had our third gymnastics class today and even I was impressed. I know the girls sit around and absorb whatever is going on, spend a few minutes with them and they will be parroting everything you say. So I knew they were picking up the stuff from gymnastics even if they were not doing it. Well today Piper decided she wanted to do the balance beam, so I said she had to wait for the rest of the class and then she could do it. To my surprise she did it with the class, the instructor still could not help her only me but she did it. And Lela too! That started off a kick butt class where the girls participated in every single activity. They did the jump off the spring board into a somersault and donkey kick, they did the head stand against the wall, they did the stop/go game and even held their hands on top of their heads to get their end of class stickers. They did so awesome and they had a great time. Just goes to show that a little patience goes a long way:)
The girls are just too funny right now. They love to say the word butt, I just blew bubbles out my butt, look at mommy’s big butt, my finger smells like butt…..I know it won’t be funny when they are five but it is hysterical now. The way they chatter on is amazing, they are so grown up, they can explain things, ask questions, answer questions, have complete in depth conversations with each other, with their stuffed animals, even the baby in mommy’s tummy, oh and they also say that she is sticking her butt out and feel her in my tummy.
The girls are just awesome. The weather here has finally turned and we are able to get outside which means they are napping and sleeping soooo much better. Ahhhhhh…….the good life.

Cradle Crap
Okay so I am embarrassed to admit it but Lela still has cradle crap. I know, I know, bad mommy but let me defend myself. When the girls were almost one we went in to the pediatrician and she said just to leave the cradle crap because as they started to eat more food it would just get worse from them smashing food on their heads etc. The girls did not have any hair forever, like until they were about two. I just ignored the cc and went on my business. Well then Lela got a strong aversion to having her hair washed. We have tried lots of things but it is still very traumatic for her. Recently we got a special visor and we managed to wash her hair without any water hitting her face but she still did not like it and was very upset.
Anyway, the cradle crap is still in Lela’s hair. But now when it comes out it takes chunks of her hair with it. How horrible am I? Now that she finally has hair, it is attached to the cc and comes out. Thank goodness she has enough hair to cover up any little bald spots.
Oh and I have learned my lesson, if the new baby has cc I will scrub it out BEFORE she gets any hair:) I think because the girls were so small for so long I thought scrubbing their heads would be horribly mean. We are slowly getting all of Lela’s cc out by brushing and blow drying once a week, but it is definitely harder when they have hair! HA!

Sway
Lela has always been more sensitive than Piper about everything. She can sense when someone is down and is the first to help out. When my grandma was here and fell at night, Lela woke us up and alerted us to what happened. She is also the one that is scared easier, a little more shy and needs a bit more time to adjust to change. None of it is unwanted behavior, it is just how she is different than Piper.
Well she has started to sway when she is nervous or thinks she might become nervous. For the past couple weeks I have been saying “do you have to potty” all the time until I figured out it is her coping mechanism kicking in for whatever reason. When she was really little she would hit her head, gently, on her car seat or high chair and the doctor said it was just her coping mechanism. She still does it but it has become a cute little sway that she does.

Bad Blogger
I have been such a bad blogger lately and I know that only those I really care about have suffered:) My longtime readers, AKA my family! Well sorry for the bad blogging and although I can’t make any promises I will try to be better. I think I am spending most of my downtime flat on the sofa which is not near the computer;)
Anyway, on to the topic at hand. The girls have made some major changes lately, ones that I thought would never happen, or just seemed like they would never happen. But happen they did and the changes I thought would never happen did not turn out to be the life changing events I built them up to be. For example, I thought the girls would never stop asking for milk any time they were anxious, hungry, tired or whatever. All emotions led to milk, which led me to deny milk, incur a two year old wrath and try to distract the angry little ones. Well they don’t ask for milk anymore, they ask for food. That is a major deal, they have started to say “Piper want something to eat” or “Lela need to eat” instead of just asking for milk and me telling them they need to eat. It is quite cute. The other day Piper came up to me and said “Piper need some tofu.” Hysterical. We are on to a phase where they will ask for about 12 different things to eat and then have one bite of everything and leave a bunch of food behind so that is the new thing. They still drink their milk but I no longer have to ration it out. Yeah!

Can it really be Sept 11 already?
Time has flown these last couple weeks and honestly I don’t know where it went, not that I am complaining. The closer we get to October the more likely I can stop showering 5 times a day, LOL! Yes, yes, bring on the “fall” here in Arizona. Anyhoo, I guess the girls and I have been keeping busy although we haven’t done anything new. We are back into our pre-vacation routine and all is well. I have been doing some extra tests with the new baby who is a slow grower but the girls are super.
We did take our first gymnastics class today. It is a parent/tot class so I was there too. The girls looked super cute in their gym outfits with ponytails. Piper took hers out before we even got out of the car but I discourage Lela from taking hers out because if she takes hers out she looks like Tina Turner after a bad, bad wind storm!
The girls did…………nothing! HA! Even Piper would not get on the balance beam or the trampoline and I did not make them do anything. I tried to do everything the teacher did so they could get the idea but they were having none of it. They were curious so we will see what the next few weeks brings. So far it sounds like money flushing down the drain! HA! By the end of the class Lela was a little heap weeping in my lap. At one point I think she almost pulled down my pants trying to get in them or behind them. There was another set of twins in the class that were identicals about the girls age. It was super freaky to see how much they looked alike, they were a little shy but they participated in the class. Oh well, we will see how it goes next week….baby steps:)
