This toothpaste smells funny

So tonight we were going through the motions of bedtime and generally we give the girls A LOT of choices all the time. One of their choices is if they want to brush on their own or if we do, if they want it fast (with the electric toothbrush on) or normal (with the electric toothbrush off) etc. Tonight Lela decided that I could brush for her so I got the toothpaste tube and started to brush. I noticed the smell was different, their toothpaste is all natural and smells like oranges, and this was a different smell. So we keep brushing, Lela doesn’t say anything and then I start to laugh, I just recognized the scent. I was brushing her teeth with their face cream! Now this is a time I am glad that I go through all the trouble and expense of buying them all natural chemical free products! After we got done Lela told me that she did not like that toothpaste and I thought to myself, I am sure you didn’t:)

The drive in movie

Oh my what a blast. We took our girls (all three) and the neighbor girls (all two:) to the drive in movie last night in the phat mini van. OMG it was so much fun. We went to see Horton Hears a Who and the movie experience was great, much more relaxing than going to the big theater. We flipped the van around opened the hatch and put down the seats, the girls were piled in with blankets, popcorn and water that tastes like apple (the girls new fav drink) and they watched their first full movie. Lela is scared of movies in general so this was a big outing for us, she was able to feel safe and hide in the van if she did not want to see. Jason and I and the wee one bundled up outside the car in our chairs eating our popcorn and drinking a BIG soda (we are so bad, to punish myself I ran 3 miles this morning). Overall it was a great time and I would do it again.

My BFF Shannon

So my BFF Shannon came out for a visit, not only is she my BFF but she also has twins! How is that for coincidence (since we were friends for years before either of us had twins)? Anyhoo, we were visiting and chatting and having a really good time when we all decided to look at the girls and see who they looked like. The usual “she looks like you and she looks like jason” thing started to happen and none of us completely agreed on anything. Then Shannon said to Piper, “do you look like daddy?” And Piper said “Noooooo” in her silly voice and started to laugh. Then Piper took her hands and pulled her hair all the way back away from her face as if she was bald and then she said, “Now I look like Daddy!” It was a riot, we all got a good kick out of it and agreed that NOW she DID look like Daddy.

Gymnastics!

Here’s the video that Mystique got of the girls’ most recent gymnastics class:

Gymnastics from The Haslup Girls on Vimeo.

I think it’s pretty cute… I love how Piper runs back after doing her tumbling and starts running in circles. Then Lela gets in on it when she’s done with her tumbling… silly girls!

Bubble blowing

Landis has two major times of day right now the morning and the evening. All other times she just smiles, coos, eats and sleeps. The morning is her smiley time and she will smile until your cheeks start to hurt and then she falls asleep. The evening time is when she gets the ol’ drool machine going, she makes so much drool you could open a bar and keep em’ comin’ for hours. Once she kicks in the drool she will start with the cooing and finally bubble blowing. She is a mess when all is said and done but wowza what a cutie, a drooly, bubble blowing, sopping wet, cooing cutie:) I tried to get it on video but she is like that car that never makes the noise in the shop, as soon as she sees the camera she just stares at it and is as silent as can be but I will get it one day.

Stinkeeeee

Filed under:Kids — posted by mystique on @ 7:39 pm

So everything is stinkeee these days. It is so funny because even things that smell good (like me) or don’t smell at all are stinkee. The girls get a real kick out of telling people that they are stinky, sniffing each other and saying they are stinkeeeeee, or just embarrassing you in public by yelling that you stink, LOL! The other day a lady we were talking with asked the girls if they liked her hairbow, Piper looked at it and said, “It’s disgusting!” HA! I had to laugh, they don’t really know what stinky or disgusting mean (all smells are stinky not just the stinky ones) but they sure think it is funny and sadly enough in my British humor way I do too:)

The Sloth

Today at the park Piper was hanging upside down on a monkey bar thing and she said, “Mommy, I am a sloth.” It was like an epiphany because she IS a sloth! I mean she has more than 3 toes but she is the slowest animal in our family. She will take 1 hour to walk 15 min and every minute or so during the 1 hour she will stop and say, WAIT! She also makes sure to stop and yell WAIT and then continue to wait until you have waited an approved amount of time in her mind before she will continue on walking. Gasp! The other day Jason took them to the park and I texted him that dinner was ready, he began the journey home and before I knew it he said to just eat without him because Piper was going to cause them to be home by breakfast, LOL! I was so hoping she would be Mia Hamm since she is built to play soccer but apparently she will have to settle for golf with a caddy AND a cart!
