Swirling the bowl

So we finally got a fish tank, my dad has been wanting the girls to have one for quite some time and the other day the urge hit me. We got the tank and got it all set up and everything was going along swimmingly UNTIL Jason decided to add fish to it! I was happy that the girls just liked the tank with no fish but Jason had to go and ruin it, LOL! As a “thank you” for wanting to add the fish I sent him to the store with the girls when they were really tired to get the fish:) He survived and so did the fish but the girls were in quite a state when they got home.

We added the fish to the tank, 4 guppies and 1 molly. The girls are enjoying feeding the fish and watching them. Piper really wants to put her hands in the fish tank and might be doing it when I am not looking but I have not seen any evidence of spilled water on the floor. Anyway, one of the fish bit the dust today. I fished out the little guy and asked the girls what we should do with him. Piper said, “we should ask daddy.” I told them he was dead and we took him to Jason. Then I left the bathroom, I don’t want to deal with dead fish. So in a couple minutes Piper comes running out with Lela in tow and they are laughing hysterically about the fish swirling the bowl. They said they can’t wait to tell their teacher today. Should be interesting:)

A poop and pee on the potty, are you for real?

Landis did have a poop and pee on the potty and as proud as I was (jk) I did not take a photo of it! Basically she is constipated from adding more solid food to her plate so she is having trouble. So I know when she is trying to go and she doesn’t like to lay down she likes to sit which really defeats the purpose. So my mom suggested I sit her on the potty, genius! I got one of the girls little potties that is like a bowl and sat her on it and she peed and pooped. It was a monster poo or anything but it did help her a little. Not that she has the slightest clue what happened but she was able to bend forward to pick up a toy and I think that helped her out. Potty training here we come? HA! I think not but we will use the potty as much as we can.

Infectious laughter and phony bolonie

I don’t think that anyone can hear Lela’s laughter and not crack out in a smile themselves. I don’t know exactly what it is but you cannot not laugh when she gets going. She is so cute and her laughter is so genuine and pure it is infectious. Piper on the other hand does a LOT of phony laughter which is funny in itself. She will just hardy har har at about anything and if she thinks it will make you laugh she will do it again and again. That might be from all of Jason’s “fake” laugh training that he did with her (this is not a joke, he really did). So to hear the two of them laughing up a storm is a real riot and a frequent sound at our house.

Babysitter

The babysitter (kelly) is working out really well. She is able to get everyone to sleep, teeth brushed, books read and happy which is such a treat for us. It is our first real out of the family babysitter and I have to admit I was a bit nervous when we used her last but this time went even better than last time and every angel was asleep when we arrived. Ah……that is nice.

Mama

The girls have taken to calling me “mama.” Everyone thinks it is cute, except for me:) HA! I guess it is sort of cute but I hear it so much during the day it loses some of its charm.

“Milkie Mama”
“Mama, I have to potty”
“Can I do this Mama?”

You get the gist. I think that they get it from the Berenstain Bears because we have been reading a lot of those books and everyone in them is called Mama, Papa, Brother and Sister Bear. Although Jason has gotten away without getting called Papa somehow.

First real poo and two front teeth

Landis has had her first real poo. You can now tell when she has to go or is trying to go which is a good thing, she is learning what that feels like and I am learning her bowel routine. Turns out she is more like my side of the family and is a slow digester, yeah I know TMI:)

She also has two lower front teeth that are above the gums. So that means that she can bite me when she is done nursing, we are still sorting that out. I tell you between her razor sharp fingernails and teeth I am feeling a bit tender, HA! All in a day’s work, man oh man this is a tough job:)

Anything but THAT!

Landis is in to chewing anything BUT chew toys. She will pass up a room full of toys to chew on a magazine, take said magazine away and the wailing begins. She is so funny. I even bought her a wooden chew ring and she tosses that aside for the latest issue of Oprah! As we speak she is pulling herself up on my magazine basket and trying to get paper out to chew. Ah she got the latest Leaps and Bounds out of the basket, let the gnawing commence. She will be the keychewing child you see at the grocery store, when in your head you are thinking “wow aren’t those dirty?”

Disaster!

That about sums up our camping. The days were okay but the nights were enough to send you over the edge and I think I actually went over. Anyway, not the brightest move apparently but at least it is over. That is about all I can say about that.
