Party!
Well Saturday night was the big GoDaddy party (where DH works). The good news is that GoDaddy seems to be weathering the economy just fine and the party spared no expense. It was a great time with Sinbad (funnier than I expected), 38 Special (knew more songs than I expected) and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (she was flat out awesome). While we were there Bob Parsons (the founder) gave away over 200K in cash by drawing names out of a hat. It was C-R-A-Z-Y! Two years in a row Jason had had his name drawn out of the hat. It was fun but I think I am still recuperating:)
The girls did super with our sitter Kelly (she is a elem ed senior at ASU). Piper was very much the big sister and sat with Landis and took care of her if she cried. Kelly watched Piper and then Lela watched herself:) All was well until bed time when Lela got upset. Piper filled her big sis role as usual and came out to tell Kelly that Lela was very sad and wanted her mommy. Landis was a real stinker and slept the entire time except for once when she woke up and saw that it was still Kelly watching her so she went back to sleep. I wish she would do that for me, LOL!

Rudolph the Red News Reindeer
This is the girls favorite holiday song, just now they were dancing and singing along to the tunes. So cute.

Watch me mom
So the girls have been changing even though I have not been blogging much. Most of the time Landis is at my leg crying and now she is too tall to fit under my desk so blogging leads to a lot of head banging and more crying. The crying is something I avoid at all costs cuz’ it sends me in to orbit so no blogging.
The girls are cracking me up with the things they are doing. Of course I can’t remember a single one right now because I actually have time to blog and not a thought in my head.
Oh I just thought of a few things! One thing they have been doing is putting on a lot of shows, mostly jumping, tumbling but some ballet. They do something and say watch me, then I never look away but they still say watch me and I say I am watching, next trick, mom are you watching, yes I am, okay, next trick, mom are you watching, yes I am….and on and on it goes until I end the show or we would be at it all night.
They started wearing these rings that Nana Peggy got them last year and it makes them look so grown up. Today I caught them coloring each others toenails with crayons, it was a hoot. We have never painted toes or nails but I see it coming.
Earlier today I was cleaning the playroom and I heard this strange ripping noise. I went in to the dining room to find that Piper and Lela had taken a roll of masking tape and taped up the dining room table, the sofa, the castle slide and the rocking horse. It was a stitch, they said they were running a race. I got some of it on video so check out the Flickr site. The tape race became a big ball of tape that we stuck on and wore like hats. Crafty little hootigans.

Apparently we have passed a milestone
So we are back in to all our crafting so we must have passed a milestone. Previously it was impossible due to the addition of our third little angel but she must be becoming more independent because we have been busy, busy, busy! The girls and I are having lots of fun crafting and making things in the holiday spirit. I have even found some time to make no sew blankets as gifts for the holidays.
Landis has passed several milestones lately that I know of. She is learning to fall asleep on her own, a wee bit. She doesn’t want to be worn in the Ergo anymore, I have been putting her to sleep in that for almost 6 months now. She still resists falling asleep and wants to do it on her own terms which is good. She is still a restless sleeper but I think (I hope) she is getting better. She just doesn’t want to miss a thing. She is absolutely angelic when she does fall asleep though:) Landis is also in to brushing her own teeth, feeding herself, going number 2 on the potty and wanting everything I or the girls have. She continues to be uber independent and dependent all at the same time. I am glad I got down some solid parenting skills prior to having Landis since she requires a wee bit more patience and skill to handle:)

4, 2 and 1?
We were out shopping the other day and the cashier was chatting away about kids and how she leaves hers with someone else during the day and then gets bombarded with other kids at work. She was jolly about it I think she was just chatty. We were at Trader Joes and there the kids get their own buggies and help to load and unload the groceries. I had Landis in a big buggy and the girls were unloading their groceries for the checker. She commented on the absolute cuteness of my kids (maybe she did not but I added it in anyway) and then she said, “how old are they, 4, 2 and 1?” Poor Peeps, she thought that she was only 2! Now I don’t think Piper looks small enough to be a two year old, maybe a big two year old. But I think the height difference is so noticeable now between the two folks figure they can’t be twins! She was spot on on the other ages.
Piper hasn’t changed shoe sizes or pants sizes in over a year but we have had to move her up on the clothes ladder because Lela is up in the 5’s due to a long waist and long legs and when she tries to wear Piper’s 2’s it don’t go so well:)
And Piper if you are reading this some time in the future you were not small and actually slow growing is healthier:)
