All better…..well not quite:)
The girls seemed to be doing better, Landis for sure is better. I really needed to get out of the house so I took them to Whole Foods to pick up a few things, then we went to Savers (our local thrift shop) and then to one of our favorite restaurants Pita Jungle. Pita Jungle has an awesome kids menu, the only one I have found with good food on it instead of your standard junk.
We get lunch we are eating, it is a noisy place so we fit right in. I had a yummy portobello burger with roasted potatoes and the girls picked at their plates of hummus, steamed carrots, broccoli, brown rice, lentils and pitas. All in all it went well. I loaded up most of the girls food into a take out container and I was just finishing it up when Piper walked over. She looked up at me, I was still sitting at the table, and then she opened her mouth and threw up right in my hands and she continued to throw up on my plate. Good thing lunch was over, lol!
So the girls feel fine but food isn’t settling so good. Needless to say Lela abstained from eating for the rest of the day if it was going to lead to more throwing up!
They seem to be fine this morning and ate some breakfast so we will see how it goes;)

Update on Landis
Landis has not thrown up today, thankfully, but she has thrown up every day since Wednesday but with less frequency. She has not eaten since Wed at dinner either. She is starting to take little nibbles of rice cake or dried cereal but that is about it. She still has the runny poo and is NOT happy about it. I am so glad that I had a supply of disposables before we got this crud:) Today her spirits are up and she is nursemaid to the girls. She checks the potty to see their vomit, she brings them drinks and is even entertaining them with her awesome smiles which we have not seen in days.

And another one down
At 1:20 we are woken up by another puke fest but this time it was Lela. Like most anything Lela manages to do things without getting messy. She doesn’t like to be wet, dirty or messy. So with all her grace she manages to get up, throw up and not get a speck on herself or her bed. Amazing. So the jury is in and apparently they both have what Landis had. Hopefully it won’t be the week long ordeal that Landis has had.

Another one bites the dust
Well Piper had an accident in her bed the other night (the first one in forever) and I did not have a waterproof cover on her bed:( So we went off to IKEA to get her a new mattress. When we got it home I put a cover on it that is a fuzzy blue thing and I left the plastic on her mattress. I felt bad about it but I wasn’t prepared with a waterproof cover and I figured we would just try it. Thank goodness I did.
At 10:20 she woke up covered in puke. She had thrown up while sleeping so it was in her hair and all over her bed. We got her all cleaned up, stripped the plastic covered mattress and put her to bed in our room on her mattress on the floor.
Then we dozed off wondering if she had gotten Landis’ bug.

Puke and Poop
Well here we are in the house of puke and poop. I swear I just read my friends blog about her sick kids and somehow we got it through the computer, lol! Really it is only Landis (so far). She went through about 24 hours of vomiting and then the runny poo started in. I took her in to the doctor and of course it is either this or that but no one knows. I did have to put her on anti nausea medicine so that we could get some fluids in her. It is times like these that I am thankful to still be breastfeeding. At least I don’t have to fight her to get fluids in, she is drinking water too so as long as she keeps things down she is hydrated. She hasn’t eaten any food in over 48 hours though and she is pretty lethargic and weak. She won’t take any food yet so hopefully tomorrow she will be interested in some mushy oats or cheerios. Right now she is asleep on Jason in the living room pretty content. I just hate it when they are sick but I am thankful that it is just a virus, too many people are dealing with sicker kids than mine.

Stinky!
This morning Piper was beside me in bed and Landis was sitting next to us. Piper let out a toot and all of a sudden Landis started crawling over me, paused to sit on my stomach, then reached her hand up and pinched her nose while looking over and pointing at Piper. Two seconds later, the smell hit me and I totally agreed with Landis!

HOT HOT HOT
OMG it is already getting in to the 100s here, cripes! I hear it is going down again this weekend (please please) which is great because I am so not ready for summer:) Piper is the most sensitive to weather complaining that it is hot, cold, wet, dry etc. Lela is the most susceptible to weather, breaking out in heat rashes, dry skin (that is close to eczema…yikes) and bloody noses due to the dryness. So far Landis is showing signs of dry skin too but I can keep her partially moisturized so no worries of eczema there.
Needless to say we are not ready for summer but it might be here soon. I had to send the girls swimsuits back because they are too small to fit in to them. Lela needs a 5 but the 5 shorts are too big, Piper needs a 3T but those shorts are too big but 2T are too short. Landis has the chubbiest (and cutest) thighs ever but anything that is not made from cotton rubs her and give her a rash so I am trying to find her a good swimsuit that won’t aggravate her legs. I know I could go and get them all bikinis but I like for them to wear the SPF shirt and short suits. So I guess I will go back to square one on those and see what I can find.
Why am I rambling on in this post? Hmmm…..I think I best get to bed.

New word
Landis has a new word….Dora. She has added it to her repertoire of Oh Wow, ball, meow, dog, grrr (for tiger), mama, dada, Lela and Piper. She is quite possibly at the cutest age ever. She is still signing and is quick to pick them up but wants to vocalize as well. She is cute and cuddly and quick with blowing kisses, waving goodbye, saying good night and is even quick with a scrunchy smile for strangers. She is melting hearts all over the valley already….
