Cosmic Karma

Now I don’t believe that everything happens for a reason, fate or destiny but I do believe that we can and do create some circumstances. I have been afraid of these last few weeks of pregnancy because I have never been here before and just like any Type A person I don’t really like change or the unknown:)

So in a cosmic twist I now have one kid with Rotovirus that won’t seem to go away and another kid with a 102 fever and sore throat. HA! You gotta laugh because I don’t have the time to shower or even think about the fact that we are in the home stretch and will have a new baby in a few short weeks:) Perspective can be a real stinker!

Lucky for me my Roto baby is generally a charming, cute little bundle that needs lots of hugs and my 102 fever baby is one of the most easy going sick kids you will ever meet. So in the big scheme of karma I still got it pretty easy:)

Lela

Anyone that follows the blog knows about our family bedroom. Pretty much it is open to those who want to sleep in there, except the dog because he walks around on the wood floors all night clickety clacking:) Anyhoo, we have been talking to Lela about staying in her bed all night when Phoebe comes because she won’t get much sleep in our room. She was all on board for it. The other night she came in and Piper came in (Piper rarely comes in anymore) and we only had one toddler cot in the room so we took them back to their room. Lela was upset but I explained to her it was good practice since Phoebe would be here soon and she was okay with that. Ever since she has stayed in her room all night. This is huge for her. I am so glad because I know she needs the rest, she would still nap if Piper would nap. Anyway, Landis is going to sleep in her own room/bed at night and Lela is staying her room and Piper is staying in her bed! Jason and I have our room to ourselves for like two whole weeks! Oh and we thought it would never happen again, lol!

Goings on

We do have and have had a lot going on lately. We recently picnic’d at the Riparian Preserve and I just love that place. The girls got to go to Disney on Ice with Nana and Grandpa, we met Grammy and Grampy for breakfast, we made bird feeders, went to ballet classes and started up with music classes again. Whew, maybe that is why I am tired:) No really it has been great to have my folks just 2 miles away. My dad is able to walk over in the morning and help to entertain the girls and my folks have been dropping them off and/or picking them up from school. In addition we have been able to drop them off so we can shop for a new mattress and even attend a movie. I don’t want to get to used to having reliable drop in care around but it sure is nice.

What have you been up to?

Well at first I wasn’t blogging because I was tired:) I have been volunteering at the girls school and wrapping up my time on the board of a local non for profit in anticipation of Phoebe’s arrival and I was getting so tired:) Then we got sick. First it was Piper and then Landis with Jason and I at the same time. We knew what it was/is….Rotovirus. Yuck! The good news is that it didn’t really phase Piper but little Landis is having a harder time kicking it. She is on about day 3 and seems to be finally coming around. She is old enough to know she is hungry/thirsty but not old enough to correlate that what goes in must come out:( I have her hydrated on coconut water which she seems to be keeping down today and I will give her some toast in a bit. Hopefully this is the end for her. Jason and I feel tired due to nighttime vomiting from Landis but otherwise the Roto doesn’t much bother us anymore, we know we have it but it passes. Ah….germs gotta love em’.
