Phoebe!

This morning, around 8:45am, we welcomed Phoebe Melissa to our family! Everything went just great — Mystique did awesome, of course, and Phoebe weighed in at a hefty 7lb 4oz. and is 20.5 inches in length. Cute little girl… she’s even got a nice sampling of dark hair, which is a first for our babies.

Piper, Lela, and Landis all got to come visit Phoebe and Mystique today and they immediately fell in love with her. They all can’t wait to bring her and mom home.

A huge thanks to grandpa and grandma Slocum for all of their support today. They pretty much spent the day with all the girls allowing me to spend some good quality time with Phoebe and Mystique.

More stories to come!

Big Weekend

We have a big weekend planned. We started off with Friday night movie night, our favorite night of the week. The girls all cuddle up and watch a movie together of their choosing, Landis watches for exactly 2 minutes but they really get excited about it.

Tomorrow we are off to Open House at Desert Marigold, very exciting. This is the Waldorf school we are hoping to get the girls in to in the fall. My dad is going as well as Jason’s folks so we are excited to see what they think of the school.

Sunday is superbowl! Woot. My folks are coming over and that should be fun. Sunday will also be full of last minute washing, cleaning and getting the house in order for Phoebe! My mom will be helping me do all the last minute things so I can go to the hospital bright and early monday morning with a clean head knowing all is right with the house:)

Then Monday, PHOEBE’S BIRTHDAY!!!! Yeah, we are soooo excited!

Doodle Bug

We call Piper, Poppy (thanks to Landis).
We call Landis, Pootzer (thanks to a neighbor) but
We call Lela, well Lela.

Now I think I will start calling Lela Doodle bug. This child will doodle on anything and everything. Just today during lunch she doodled on her napkin and the doodles are totally adorable. She was doodling on the walls and she even doodled on the car next to her carseat. She now confines her doodles to paper and the underside of Piper’s bed (which is so cute). So far she has written all the names of her BFFs on the underside of Piper’s bunk, Piper, Lela, Jakob and Kate. She doodles, doodles and doodles some more. I know I am a doodler so I know it is a compulsion she can’t stop and it makes me smile to see all her doodles all over the house (as long as they are on paper:)

She did it!

So here is what went down today:

We are all eating lunch around the table when…..

Landis: I pee pee, Lela help
Lela: Unmoved by the request continues to eat
Mom: Lela is eating her lunch can I help?
Landis: No….Poppy?
Piper: I can help her and then come back and finish my lunch
Mom: Okay
Off they go, Lela decides to go and they come back running with Landis’ diaper.
Landis re-enters climbs up to the table bare bummed.
Landis: I pee pee
Mom: Well if you have to pee pee you have to go to the potty
Landis: Otay
Off Landis goes by herself to my bathroom
Landis re-enters kitchen
Landis: Pee Pee!
Mom: Where did you pee pee?
I pick her up and feel her bum, figure she peed on the floor somewhere. But she takes me to the bathroom and she had peed in the potty!

All of us jump up and down and get really excited, Landis looks at us funny but then gets excited too. We call Daddy and share our happy news, Grandpa and Nana show up to take the girls to school and we share our happy news. And now that the girls are gone I am sharing with you:)

Yeah! She did it!
