We took her to the dentist, she said pull it out.
We tried to get her to wiggle it….nope.
We iced it to numb it to wiggle it….nope.
We tried to pull it……double nope.
We encouraged her to pull it…..nopeity nope nope.
We bribed her with money to pull it….nope.
We bribed her sisters with money to pull it….nope.
Finally one day she slinked off to the bathroom to pull it herself in her own time and in her own way. I got curious as to where she was and I found her in the bathroom with a tissue trying to pull it. I offered her a washcloth and left her alone. Piper became our little reporter and kept running back and forth telling me every step, blood, more blood, more wiggling. There was lots of squealing from Piper and running around. Finally I went back to check on her and it was still in there. I asked her if I could see it and she showed me, I asked her if I could pull it and she was unsure but I got my fingers in there and pulled the little bugger out before she could notice.
I think she was shocked it was finally gone and that it didn’t hurt. She was super excited too. Now the fun part. She informed me that her friend got a magic egg, a golden dollar and a crystal from the tooth fairy and that Lela did not want “just a dollar.” Why couldn’t she tell me this in the months that we have been wiggling this darn tooth??? Is that too much to ask? So now here I am on a Sunday night with no crystal, no magic egg and no golden dollar. Gah!
What did I do? I rummaged through the rocks that we have inherited from Grampy Jack and found a smooth pink stone that had crystal qualities. I found a dollar, not golden but still a dollar! Finally I found penguin toothbrush in my stash of stuff. So that is what she got and she was pleased to not get “just a dollar.” HA! Tooth fairy wins again.
PS. This time we set an alarm on our phone so we did not forget the tooth fairy. I am sure Jason has his own version of this story since it took him several trips in to her room feeling around under her pillow to find the tooth, lol.
