It wasn’t food poisoning

Well it turns out it wasn’t food poisoning at all just some random and hard hitting stomach bug. Landis was hit the hardest with me second. After shutting us down it went on to Phoebe, then Piper and finally Lela. Jason is the only one who suspiciously avoided the bug so either he was the carrier or he is just exceptionally immune to our germs! Seeing as Landis, Phoebe and I all sleep in the same bed with Jason I don’t see how he could not have got it but whatever!

I am happy to report that I think the bug is finally out of everyone’s system. It has been a long week with many extra loads of laundry and frequent sprints to the bathroom:) Lucky for us all that everyone did so well and that there were no fevers or other yucky stuff to go along with it:)

Food Poisoning….blech

Yes Landis and I got food poisoning! It has totally sucked for everyone. On the plus side I have lost 5 lbs ha ha! I would never chose that way to lose weight again though. I don’t think I have ever had food poisoning and it was/is horrible. Poor Landi is still working it out but after throwing up for over 36 hours at least now she is no longer afraid of it and is an old pro. I am on the mend and I think she is too but her stomach is still having spasms and causing her to throw up. Sigh….will this week never end??

Say it ain’t so

Yes, please someone tell me I am being Punk’d. I have been drinking and enjoying the most delicious vegan chocolate protein shake on the planet. I have been downing this baby twice a day blended with spinach and blueberries in my ongoing effort to rid myself of baby weight. This shake is so yummy I might dream about it if I could ever catch up on my sleep enough to dream, but I digress, on to the bad news.

Phoebes allergic reaction is to my shake! Not to just any ingredient mind you, to the one most important ingredient, COCOA! No, this can’t be happening, allergic to chocolate? One of my kids? I keep telling myself she will grow out of it and just not to worry about it. I am guessing I ate too much chocolate while she was in uteri and this is all my doing, serves me right I suppose. Sigh, this might be the most depressing news I have ever had;)

One year check up

Well Phoebe is one. We had our yearly check up and of course she is doing super. She is 21lb 5 oz and 30.5 inches tall. She got a clean bill of health except for the allergic reaction she seems to be having at the moment. That reaction sent us to the lab for what turned out to be a terrible idea. In a nutshell we walked out after 3 needle sticks and Phoebe was like a raging, crying little bull (this one has some spunk!). I just couldn’t take it anymore and decided it wasn’t worth it. If she was having a reaction it could only be a few things and I would just take them out and put them back in and see for myself what it was.

On to other things though, she is right where she is supposed to be developmentally which is great. She is coming along on shot even though we are “way behind” according to the ped. She still had a little of the ear infection but it was clearing itself up without antibiotics thank you very much:) All in all a great check up.

She loves me….she loves me not

Phoebe is in a phase. Is it a phase? I sure as heckidoodilio hope it is because it is exhausting. Here is the skinny:

If I set her down, she cries
If I leave the room, she cries
If I am not holding her, carrying her, playing with her, she cries
If I try to put her to sleep without putting her in the Ergo, she cries
If…well you get the gist

Sigh. I am okay with most of it but I might have to put her on a diet if I have to lug that 20+ pounder around all day, lol.

What’s up?

Well I figured I better get on here and post so this post won’t be about anything in particular just a sort of here is what is happening in our neck of the woods:)

Phoebe is alllllmost one, her birthday is tomorrow:) She has a horrible patch of eczema on her belly and back:( I am not sure if it is a food allergy or skin issue. I added soy and eggs to her diet so it could be either one of those. I am hoping not, I mean if we have a dairy allergy, a vegetarian (Lela) and an egg allergy lord help us we will be vegan for sure! She is due for her one year check up this week so we shall see.

Landis is just…..Landis:) She is doing super, loving being home with mommy and Phoebe. She can’t wait for the girls to go to school in the morning but that is because I let her watch Elmo’s World on Sesame Street, lol! We had to put her back on Prevacid because her stomach issues returned. Now that she has been back on a week she is okay, I am going to check with the doctor on that one too.

Piper and Lela have been having a grand ol’ time and really seem to be turning in to BFFs. I imagine it is hard not to become best friends with your 24/7 playmate. With best friendship comes a little quibbling, teasing and ultimately hitting (Piper). I can’t blame her because Lela does have a tendency to keep egging her on even when you can tell Piper is growing more and more angry. It ends with a punch from Piper and tear from Lela. One time last week it ended with them both in bed at 645PM! I did not yell or get angry I just asked them both to get in bed and then I left. Thankfully I left or I might have gotten angry, lol! We are busy making valentines for their school, riding our bikes and enjoying our awesome winter weather.

Piper is still jumping and hoola hooping up a storm. She likes to ride her bike, play her leapster explorer and most of all play mommy with Landis and Phoebe.

Lela is still drawing although we are not in art classes right now due to how far away they are now that we moved. She has stuck at it and can now jump rope and hoola hoop right alongside Piper.

As for me, I am exhausted as usual but looking pretty good despite it all:) I love my life, my husband and my kids and wouldn’t trade it for all the tea in China (but don’t tempt me with all the chocolate in Belgium please:).
